They show soldiers using the internet and things like skype on the news in the USA sometimes. It is likely he can call or use internet if he isn't out in the field in the middle of nowhere. If he is at a big base camp, he probably has phone and internet access to at least some extent. And I would think that he gets rotated in and out of base camp on a regular basis even if he is sent on missions. Of course, I have no idea how long a mission might be. Perhaps it could be for a few weeks or longer.

You seem to be having a lot of bad luck or are doing a lot of browsing. I have found very few hosts on CC who do the the things you hate. Would you care to give some names as examples? I am not sure about photoshopping but putting up fake pics isdefinitely against CC rules. If you report the hosts to CC and they persist they will get penalty points.

I reported one or two hosts who stole pics of a host I knew. You could do the same thing if someone has fake pics. I see nothing wrong with reporting a host trying to deceive members.

In terms of the old pics, I've posted in the personal forum (which can be deleted by the host of course) and the member forum that the pics were outdated. That is what the forums are for, and if a member isn't going to get what he is paying for, it is perfectly appropriate to let other members know. But I wouldn't report that to CC (although they will read it of course when you post).

I don't know if every day is necessary, but at least once a month would be nice for new photos. And they should be photos taken with the same cam while the host is at the pc she works with, not just vacation or contest pics.

But to be honest, I have't notice a big problem overall with this issue. It just happens in my experience on occasion. I do think twice before visiting a host who doesn't have recent pics. Moreover, when I report a rule violation of any type, let's just say I have a way with words that will lead to the desired outcome because I too don't like to be deceived on this or any other issue and take it very personally. I treat hosts with respect demand the same in return. I won't even say "get naked baby" in instant action without first introducing myself and maybe chatting a little even if it is an expensive video, for example, and will always ask for a show in nicer words than "get naked baby" unlike a lot of guys here. I think everyone deserves respect until learning otherwise. But for those who upset me in violation of the rules when I am paying, I will almost always let CC and members know to establish the track record for bad behavior. I suggest you chanel your frustration in a similar manner so we all end with a better site that is full of hosts worthy our respect and our money. And of course, treat them with respect as well.

i am just saying that maybe most members, including myself, like honest somewhat current pics. maybe once a week to take 2 or 3 photos with the webcam during your session? is that a lot to ask?

Wow, this really IS a super tricky question. It will be interesting to see how people respond. The way I see it, there's a problem with your question. You're automatically assuming that your friend DOESN'T know his wife is working online -- but maybe he does. Maybe this is something they agreed to, so she could earn some spare money to help with bills at home. But here are 3 possibilities I'd consider...

1) As I said, your friend could already know she works here, but unfortunately they never really counted on this happening. They never really planned what they would do IF someone they personally knew accidentally stumbled upon her. So you could tell him, but you wouldn't be revealing any big secret.

So -- at best -- now he and she would simply get a little red faced that you know too, at which point they'd say "Shhh! We needed money and we're embarrassed enough as it is. Please keep this a secret and don't tell any of our other friends." However -- at worst -- once you tell your friend that you saw his wife online, then obviously the next thing he's going to say will be: "Wait a minute! Once you realized it was her, did you STILL make her strip ? If you KNEW it was my wife, why didn't you respect her and walk away? And for that matter, why did you anonymously play with my wife, you pervert!" At that point, odds are your friend is quickly going to become your EX friend. So I hope the show was worth it!

2) On the flip side, maybe your friend DOESN'T know what she's up to, which is a whole other story. I know some hosts won't like hearing this, but then you might actually be doing him a favor by telling him the truth. A while back on the message board there was a big debate when a host posted that she works here online...her hubby doesn't know...and she likes sex so much she even meets her guests on the side to fuck them. In that debate, it was interesting to see how quickly the battle lines were drawn and how it became a big moral debate. The question was simple -- IF you knew a friend's spouse was cheating on them, should you tell them?

In this case, the wife might only be working online. Or like I said, maybe she's trying to make a little money on the side. Maybe her hubby doesn't give her enough spending cash at home -- to buy some of the things she'd like -- so this was her best way of secretly earning some money for herself.

On the other hand, I have to admit there is an intriguing temptation to go back and see if the wife IS secretly trading emails or having Yahoo chats and getting extra personal with her guests, right down to meeting them and fooling around on the side. If that were true, then you would be doing your friend a big favor by tipping him off to the secret life his wife is leading behind his back. After all, no one likes to be cheated on. Plus, think of it this way -- what happens if someone ELSE spots her online or even meets with her and THEN your friend finds out? What are you going to do when he says "Did you have any idea she was doing this or that she was cheating on me?" How awkward will it be THEN when you're forced to admit "Well, actually I did know. In fact I've been jerking off to her on cam myself for a while now."

3) Finally -- and I'm betting most people will answer this way -- you could just walk away. You could never go back and see her again since she is your friend's wife. You could keep your mouth shut about discovering her online. You could simply say: "This is their business and I'm staying OUT of it completely."

I think the most telling thing about this tale is the phrase "I couldn't resist". If you really were a friend to either her or him or both then you COULD have resisted.

Far as I can see you are no friend worth having if you behaved like that. Lying is never good at the best of times, but you lied to her, you will be lying to your 'friend' every time you talk to him and frankly can never be trusted at all.

There is nothing wrong with friends seeing other friends get naked or strip if they do so by accident or mistake. my husband snores loud enough to literally shake the house. When he sleeps upstairs in his bedroom, I can hear him no matter where I am in the house, doors closed and all.

We talked to the doctor about it, and he recommended a sleep study. The sleep study showed he had severe sleep apnea (stops breathing momentarily 58 times an hour). Surgery is recommended ONLY as the ultimate, last resort procedure. What is recommended is a CPAP device which he wears at night and forces air into his lungs. He looks like an alien with the device on LOL but he sleeps better, breathes better at night, doesn't snore. The device is uncomfortable but he gets used to it. Snoring can indicate sleep apnea which is a dangerous condition as it causes the heart to work harder... hence, he is significantly more at risk for Stroke, Congestive Heart Failure, and other heart-related problems, not to mention that it causes severe fatigue (lack of consistent sleep) and poor mental alertness and functioning. People who are obese are more likely to suffer from sleep apnea than those who are not obese, but sleep apnea is not limited only to obese people.

Whatever you do about the snoring, for sure, get it checked out by a competent physician, and discuss options.

Agree, get it checked out. But if it's relatively minor (caused by congestion or smth), you can get little "snore strips" that attach like a bandaid across the nose, and help to open up the nasal passages. I don't snore all the time, but I've been kicked often enough in the middle of the night to wear these when I think I'll need 'em. :D

Everyone covered the topic pretty well. The CPAP is the best non-surgical method. The strips, mouth guards, special pillows, throat sprays...etc. are all pretty worthless. The CPAP fits over the nose or nose and mouth and pushes air with enough force to open the airway. When the airway is closed you hear snoring and the person snoring doesnt get enough oxygen and healthy sleep. There are surgical procedures where the nose and throat are surgically modified but they have mixed results. The CPAP is the way to go after a sleep study. They come with a container for water that moisturizes the air (use distilled water only). They must be kept clean and they are not cheap nor are the accesories that must be replaced from time to time. (mask, hoses, etc.). The CPAP itself makes a noise like rushing air but it tends to be what they call white noise or noise you can easily block out. It might even allow you to sleep better. Good luck.

I'll be okay. Just disappointing. The better team won, and it didn't come down to a freak goal or bad referee or anything like that so that's good. In fact, the American's first goal maybe came on an offsides play which would probably have caused some controversy had the USA won.

The USA set a record for Winter Olympic medals and Canada set a record for Winter Olympic gold medals so both countries had a great Olympics. I just like seeing my country do well especially in sports that we are not well known for.

But it was nice to see Canada win something so important to them. Americans think about the Olympics for a week before, the two weeks during, and a week after, and then we forget about them for the most part. We really don't care that much compared to other countries. It would have been a source of national pride for about a week so that we could say "Yay!!! See? We're good at hockey too" if we had won, and then people would forget about it whereas in Canada, it would have been a national tragedy had they lost. Unless you do something like Michael Phelps or the 1980 men's hockey team, we pretty much forget about the Olympics.

We just like to see we are at or near the top of the medal count. In fact, a lot of us were happy in some ways that our basketball team didn't win the gold medal in 2004 even if it is our sport since we sent a bunch of jerks over there that got what they deserved. Our professional teams are more important to us other than right around the time of the Olympics.

But hockey players are usually nice people, and it is disappointing to see the American ones lose. One American was from near where I live, and two Canadians play for my favorite NHL team so it was good all three did well. I just hate Crosby, lol. I wish someone else had scored.

Congratulations also to Germany. They had a great Olympics. And as for Russia, I have no doubt they will do a lot better on their home turf.

That was a great game. The definition of the phrase "nail-biter." I prefer the World Jrs for hockey tournaments. The Olympics men's hockey kind of has an NHL allstar feel to it. I like the heart of women's Olympic hockey better.

I thought it was kind of funny what you said about the usa not caring about the Olympics. I was just having a conversation about this same thing, and I've seen a lot of discussion about this previously, though it was from the complete opposite perspective. The usa sinks a lot more into the Olympics, training, athlete and money-wise and it really seems like a lot bigger of a deal there than in most other countries. If anything, medals and olympic status in the world's eyes just seem to mean a lot more to the people of the u.s. than to those of other nations.

From what I did take in, it seemed like a great Olympics this year. I didn't get to watch a lot of it, which is a shame because I enjoy the winter Olympics. The summer games have no interest to me at all.
I think the only downside was some individual and media pettiness at the beginning. Small minded people and organizations make themselves feel better by picking things apart (ie. apples to oranges comparisons to China's games), but every host nation must endure this anyway. No matter, it is always a great time for the world.
It feels good, in the end, to watch petty judgment crumble away with the fireworks of the closing ceremonies. The coming together of nations in celebration is always a success.

Maybe the U.S. Olympic Committee raises more money and things like that, but that doesn't translate into how the average American feels. Based on my unscientific sample of people and what is on television on the major networks, other than the time period immediately surrounding the Olympics, I don't think most Americans care too much. And when they do care, it is what you said... just being proud about how many medals we can rack up.

The major sports in the USA are a very small part of the Olympics. Yes, Americans compete in every sport, but the other sports certainly cannot be all that popular since the major sports dominate television, and if there was enough of an audience, other sports would be on tv, or at least not relegated to some obscure cable tv channel. Heck, hockey barely survives on American television.

You will have a large group of people into water polo or gymnastics or swimming or skiing or whatever, but looking at the country as a whole, few pay serious attention other than during the Olympics. We will be interested for two weeks since it is a unique event and we like to see our country do well, and then its back to what we usually watch. Sure, the ex-college water polo player will be into the Olympics, but I doubt he watches too much at other times. Instead, he is rooting for his favorite American footballl and baseball teams.

And think about what happened in... I think Finland... after the 2006 gold medal hockey game. The newspaper printed an article in the paper in Finland that listed the salaries of all the NHL players and titled it "Criminals". I highly doubt my paper tomorrow will say anything like that. And Norway was about to go into cardiac arrest before they started winning some cross-country skiing related medals this Olympics.

In the USA, we just say "First time we got the most medals in the Winter Olympics, and we set a record for medals in the Winter Olympics too.... Cool!" Then we forget about it. Yes, we will hope Michael Phelps can have a repeat performanace in next Olympics and be curious if our top NBA stars will go, but if Australia kicks our butts in swimming and Argentina wins in basketball, not too many people will worry about it. And Putin, for example, was really upset about the Russian man who won silver instead of gold in figure skating. You think Obama cares?

When you compare this to other countries, it is different. They are smaller countries that have their favorite sports and place a lot of importance on success in these sports. Dominating certain sports is about national pride for other countries and they take it a lot more seriously. The USA has the world series, superbowl, and nba championship. People focus on professional sports much much more and just hope to win a lot of medals regardless of the sport. And in terms of spending, I would think China spent a lot on its athletes, and after its disappointing performance, look for Russia to break the bank spending money to dominate on its home soil.

Interestingly enough, it seems from here as if the only sport being played in these olympics is ice hockey. Go figure. No wonder why skiing arenas are so far away that people need 37 bus routes to get there. No wonder they get discouraged and the arenas and tracks aren't exactly...teeming with people. If they even had known there was any skiing in the first place ;)

I missed all of the f's in of. Then again, I just woke up and read the sentence very quickly.

It might just be that the brain automatically sees the of, not that you cannot process it. For example, as long as the first and last letters of a word a correct, the ones in the middle can be scrambled around and most people can still automatically figure out what the word is without thinking about it.

Yes I missed all the f's in of too. Perhaps it is the way we (native English speakers) pronounce it. Now I'm sure that if I had read it very slowly I would have got all 6.

As for your other point about the scrambled letters I do not believe that one. I have seen the sentence based on the supposed Cambridge study but I have also seen sites where they use larger words and scramble them more and it can be very difficult to read those sentences.

As a brainteaser it is fine. However the only reason it holds for most words is that with a word 3 letters or less you cannoy swap any of the letters. With a four letter word you can only swap the middle two letters giving only 2 possible combinationas and with a five letter word there are still only 6 possible combinations (assuming the letters in the middle of the word are all differnt from each other). Words of five letters or less probably account for a large proportion of the total number of English words.

Also in your example the words "rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy" are hardly jumbled at all allowing for the correct word to be easily worked out and this then also helps to anticipate the next word. You also have an extra "ch" in research but hardly anyone ever notices this which they surely would if they were matching patterns (I only noticed because I was going to try and jumble it up more).

So it is fine as a party game / brainteaser. I just do not believe that if you really jumbled up the larger words most people would still be able to read them without a bit of thought.

Lad, ignore those who say "you knew the risks" or "you should have known it was only an online fantasy" or people like Host who have the cold as ice attitude of "suck it up and be a man" because those are all just lame excuses, almost like they're trying to give this girl a pass for what she did to you. You went into things with good intentions. You trusted this girl because of what she said and did. So here's my advice. Don't beat yourself up. Take a deep breath and realize she just isn't a good person. I know it sucks to hear that, especially about someone you cared for. But the truth is there are plenty of bad people and "users" in this world who will always take advantage of someone or prey on their feelings to get their way (which is what she did to you). So have a good cry, curse out loud in anger, get all the negative energy out of your system, and make a vow to never fall for her kind of tricks again. Why worries? A girl from internet can meet someone better than you in your place....you guys should keep it in mind such things can happen if a girl really looks lovely. Thats mean don't need to wait for 5 years. :)

Why would she have to wait 5 years? If I fell for a host or started an online romance, I would never ask her to wait that long. If I made a girl wait 5 YEARS before meeting her, I'd expect her to move on. After all, you can't wait on someone forever. There comes a point when you have to realize things are not going to work out, so you have to move on with your life.

When a couple starts an online romance BOTH the man and woman need to realize there HAS to be a day when you'll meet. Otherwise saying you have a relationship...or that you're trying to build one...is one big lie. If you're not building towards the day when you can finally kiss in person...or decide if the chemistry is right to become a real couple and settle down together...then what's the point? So if you're not working towards that -- sure, you could still be online chat friends or something, but that's about it.

But when you say that online guys should basically expect a pretty girl to start seeing a guy in her home town, that makes me (and I'm sure a lot of other guys here) frown a bit. If a host or girl decides to start up an online romance, she should work at it as much as the guy. BOTH of them have to be honest. And BOTH of them have to be loyal about NOT seeing some home town BFs or GFs on the side. I think that you are all missing the reality of what happened. He was giving her money, she was taking it. They never met, she will never see him, so he was easy pickings and all she had to do was some phone sex and sweet talk , and she has a steady income. This had nothing to do with love it was about money. She lied to him, and he lied to himself too.
I too have been down this road, and I understand the hurt of being taken for a fool. yeah it hurts, but it is what it is. Trust me, you do not want her to tell you why she did it, I did that, I insisted she tell me the truth, but all it did was sting more and trust me , with the way you feel now, you dont want to make it worse, cause if u push for the truth, you may just have to face up to it.

I had a similar experience, but I never sent any money and I must say she never asked for anything, except my attention. It was really beautiful from the start, especially that she had the initiative to call me from her mobile. I was really surprised and flattered. She even sent me gifts from time to time. It was a great feeling. We decided to meet after 3 months of chatting and talking on the phone. We met in Yaroslavl, everything was beautiful and we even planned to meet again in 4 months. However.... after 2 months of our first meeting she confessed she had accepted back with her ex-bf. She confessed she always loved him, but wanted to forget him. He always looked for her and she finally accepted him back.... Well, I am sure it would had been different if I lived in her same city. The odds were against me. Her ex-bf had the advantage to live there and she knew she didn't had to get in the trouble of getting a visa and traveling to a country she doesn't know and especially facing the dilemma of leaving her relatives, friends, and all those memories she lived in her country.
