RE: Viewer Forum
Why? Probably for the same reason you might ask about any other product you are thinking about purchasing. You want to know what you're getting.
RE: Viewer Forum
what you dont realize (or probabley do) is we spend alot of our hard ernt money here. personally i want to see a girl who i know she is worth spending money on. not every host is to everyones liking. thats why some people like a bit of info on a girl before visiting them. and we are spending money so we are consumers so there for, the girls are products. (dont mean to sound harsh). some very nice products, i must admit
RE: Viewer Forum
i was hoping it wouldnt come across like it has. i didnt mean it to be in a rude or nasty way, but im saying if you look at things from a strictly business point of view. there are some lovley girls here who i come to talk to, and yes i know they are people and i enjoy there company, an ofcourse i dont see them as products.it was ment a bit toung in cheek. so please, no disrespect ment.

RE: Viewer Forum
Mainly they ask that to avoid wasting money in the girls vid and not seeing her naked. And by asking that if they get a reply saying yes i saw her naked then they will go and vid her. But if u wanna know the real reason its cos they are cheap asses and would rather not spend the money to actually find out if she strips or not. :P:))
RE: Viewer Forum
Ye but sometimes its personal and for some guys she strips, for some she doesnt. Just cuz she doesnt feel comfy with them;) Sooo..Its still kinda pointles to ask around:)
RE: Viewer Forum
a little over simplified. sometimes to help other viewers. besides its not different than hosts gossip.
RE: To DontSayAWord
Then what should be discussed in the "VIEWER'S ONLY" forum? The price of socks?
RE: To DontSayAWord
Yeah that would be cool.I`m always in need of more socks. Best price i saw so far was 6 pairs for £1.29. :P:))
RE: To DontSayAWord
Wow £1.29 for 6 pairs. Can you let me know where you saw them and also can you give a decription of their colour and thickness etc :P
Perhaps, if we are lucky, cc will introduce a socks forum.
Perhaps, if we are lucky, cc will introduce a socks forum.
RE: To DontSayAWord
wow. thats a great idea. personaly i prefere to spend that little bit extra on my socks for that extra bit of quality. maby like £2.50 for 4 pairs
RE: Viewer Forum
futher reason, cos it's her real or imagined bf and he is trying to check if she strips or not for other guys :p
RE: Viewer Forum
There is also the envy/jealousy factor. A member may go to a hosts vid and she tells him she doesn't strip but the member wonders if she strips for some "special" viewers. This idea is encouraged by the posts in forums which insist that all hosts will strip if a member spends/offers them enough money.
RE: Viewer Forum
these big tough men are too shy & scared to ask.trouble is they forget half those that reply are big bags of wind like them & would lie about it so they can feel good about themselves in their little world
RE: Viewer Forum
To save time and money. It can take a long time to find a girl you like, chat with her and discuss and arrange a video. Even then half of the time the girl will stall, scam or disappoint. A member asks so he does not have to go through that hassle. Plus everyone wants to know just how far and how quickly a host will go. It can be costly to find out she just shows your a nice big smile.
RE: Viewer Forum
No. But if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck it must be a duck. You have to take gushing praise here with a grain of salt. But if several members tell you a host is all around good and she has a star rating to match and a fair price then chances are I am going to stop by. I also use Consumer Reports and Epinions before I go shopping at home. Shoot me.
RE: Viewer Forum
I usually do noot go to viewers forum. I stay in general forum and read what people say here more.

I am trying to call and send sms to a mobile phone number given to me by a host.
The number is 89021XXXXXX. I'm trying to call from the USA. Of course I must begin with 011. But that didn't work sending an sms to her.

How Do you get a visa into USA
i was wondering what is the easiest visa to get into the USA for my girlfriend? Can anyone help me?
RE: How Do you get a visa into USA
to go over there and married her and bring her back, and then you can divorced her
RE: How Do you get a visa into USA - easiest
If she is a student she should be easily be able the get a student/work visa fir the summer. As soon as she arrives she can quit that job, come to your city, get a job there and notify Homeland Security of her change in employment.
RE: How Do you get a visa into USA - easiest
pay to bring her here and she'll soon dump u and proceed from there...good luck
RE: How Do you get a visa into USA
Actaully a K-1 visa aka fiance' visa is easier then a visa for a spousal, takes about half the time usually. You're required to document your relationship so send plenty of e-mails, cards and when your together take a lot of photos. Yes, it is required that you actually meet before you apply for the visa.
RE: How Do you get a visa into USA
i don't want to get a fiance visa. we have been together before before and she is no longer a student. i want to get her a tourist visa into the United States. it doesn't seem to easy to get. So i was wondering if it was easier to get a tourist visa.
RE: How Do you get a visa into USA
Guy I hate to burst your bubble but the official US State Department policy is that ALL individuals applying for a VISA are coming with the intent to stay and not return to their home country no matter where they are coming from. Trust me I have talked several times to the State Department, my Congressman, and the actually Embassy in Moscow. If she is single under the age of 30 and does not own property and can not show full time employment in a legal job do not waste your time she will be denied. This will cause you other headaches becuase once she is denied she will not be able to get a VISA to any country that the USA shares data with example, France, Italy, England, Germany, etc. trust me on this one I learned the hard way. Forget a tourist VISA it will not happen. Try a student VISA or go finacee VISA otherwise visit her in other countries
RE: How Do you get a visa into USA
Tourism visa is easy if she can prove she has assets, a career, family, property and other compelling reasons to return to Russia after her visit. If she is single, no kids, no house or car, no job to speak of then it is next to impossible.
Student visa is easy but she must have the liquid assets or cash to pay for the program. That is tuition, fees, books and room and board. Even in a junior college program that amounts to tens of thousands.
Best bet is to meet her in a neutral country where you both can travel to. South America is easily accessible to both US and Russian citizens and is cheap. Spend a week or two there. Mexico is fun too. If it works out then think about a US visa.
Peace.

Turkey or the Black Sea is much easier and cheaper for Russian. Those places have been Russian touristic destintaion for decades.

Well it is a l,ong prosess. Be carful here so you not get scammed to. It normaly taks a year to get her over if you marriy some times faster

"who said Life is Good"
RE: time to start a new one
Postman, I did not say it first, but I thnk that life is good to me.
RE: Life is...
simply put.....life is exsistence.....we are here and that is that....the larger question....would be(and always has been) .....why are we here...that question is the reason we have religions...philosophies....and all the other things that humans have come up with to justify their exsistence.....oh....and by the way....Merry Christmas
RE: Life is...
Life is like a box a chocolates, by the time you know what pieces you like best they're all gone.
RE: Life is...
I agree with you, Zulu. Life is what you make it and I feel it is good right now.
RE: Life is...
Thanks Riv , for myself it is a mixture , a rollercoaster but I would rather take the rollercoaster than a less thrilling ride :-))
RE: Life is...
life is don't blink, just like that you're 6 years old and you're taking naps and wake up and you're 25 and your high school sweetheart becomes your wife, don't blink you just might miss your babies growing like mine did, turning into moms and dads next thing you know your better half of 55 years and there in bed and your praying God takes you instead, trust me friend a hundred years goes faster then you think, so don't blink,,,, enjoy your life and stay cool
RE: How.
i come here to have some fun i pay, i enjoy, host earns its cool. but to imagine you are going to base a relationship on this seems deluded to say the least. who would want to spend their life with some guy who bases his meeting on a nude show !!!
RE: How.
you are got to be a russian girl. with that slavic depressive thoughts and moody personality. sweety, love accepts anything, include dildo and any other "toys" Stop dreaming about "prince" simply because you are not a "princes" too. sorry, but it is a real life.
RE: How.
if you are not looking for feelings, just treat it like a job. But if you interested in any relationship, I guess here u can find much older guys then 50 y.o. who dont want to treat you like a toy, even if you are naked.
RE: How.
I think your attitude is terrible. What beautiful young intelligent girl doesn't dream of being a sexual toy for some sweaty, overweight ugly guy who wanks off while watching her strip naked and telling her to push that dildo another two inches up her bum (ass).
You should just be thankful that you managed to get on this site and have the opportunity to meet so many of us perverted old men :P

RE: How.
Normally I would applaud comments like yours, but lately the strenuous activity of clapping gives my heart palpations and at the same time makes me hunger for another triple bacon-cheese burger with XXL serving for fries and chicken nuggets with extra skin. Excuse me, all this typing had made me dehydrated from the profuse sweating, I need to go drink a double chocolate protein shake to keep fit.
RE: How.
I am thankful. very much so, never said anything bad about such or another members, but to talk about love some of them seem weird.I am here to be a toy.
RE: How.
i suppose it's about as much love as the love a guy professes when you let him do you in the acorn in real life. i mean, if you let him do something to you that he really enjoys, isn't that as meaningful a reason to love someone as any other?
RE: How.
Well.. i used to to see a certain host. And at first she did strip , later we became more like friends and we mostly talked about day to day stuff, stopped stripping, just teasing. The she stopped teasing.
:) and asked me if i would travel to meet her. I said yes.
it will take me sometime to get there though, since i am digging a hole to reach the other side of the world.

RE: How.
I see this site has bred the most morsose cynics. Those of you that know me will know that love can blossom between host and member. I was in love with, and loved by, the sweetest most innocent person I had ever met.
RE: How.
I think it is possible to use a girl as a toy at first and then develop certain real feelings.
RE: How.
Of course it is! Happened to many guys here. Likewise, it is possible for a host to see a member just as a dick with a wallet, then she develops real feelings for him...both things happen here all the time. Nobody here is perfect, but some people are more messed up than others, if you know what I mean. I think most members here are "perverts" in some way or another, but some don't have bad intentions...and the ones that do...the hosts usually can feel it. When these people all of a sudden turn around and express feelings of "love" it looks pathetic...because it's not sincere. I think this is what the original poster was referring to. And then, maybe I'm wrong.
RE: How.
Yes you can find love here. You can find it at any job. You can also find it in the laundramat. The Supermarket. Walking down the street. In a pub. In Church. In a Park. In a Library. etc. etc.
However you're not guarenteed to find it anywhere, and some places are less likely then others. As I said you can find it here, it's been done before, it's just not very likely. You seem to have a reasonable grasp on things. If you found someone who tickles your fancy then by all means pursue it, but do so slowly and keep your eyes open for "red flags." At the first indication he's being anything less then completely open with you run, don't walk, to the nearest exit.

RE: How.
Paying for so-called love upfront stack the deck against you and you better have a good hand...hehe...to recover !
RE: How.
I agree with you, JustCruising. Love can be found in every situation, but there are times that you need to take it slow in order to be sure if it is love.
RE: How.
It's possible, but not likely. The best thing to do is to settle for being a guy's favorite & the only chathost he visits in videochat on this or any other site. If I decide to only visit one certain girl in videochat, it's not simply because she is beautiful, or because she always strips, or for any other single reason. It's because she's nice, & fun to talk to also. But if she always strips, that's a plus too :P As long as she's doing it because she wants to. That's why I don't like the categories that require stripping. It's no fun if the girl is just doing it because it's a rule. And as long as it's an online only relationship, I don't care if she has a husband, bf, gf, or even all three. lol

Joe and I had been drinking buddies and friends for years. After having a few drinks, I said to Joe, we have been friends for years and years and if I should die before you do would you do me a favor, get the best bottle of Irish Whiskey you can find and poor it over my grave. Joe replied, I would be glad to do that for you my old friend, but would you mind if I passed it through my bladder first.

Australia goes in to bat for the whales
An agreement for Japan to abandon its plan to kill humpback whales in the Southern Ocean this summer could be finalised later this week.
Japan's scientific whale kill in the Southern Ocean this summer is to include up to 50 humpback whales.
Australia will lead a high-level diplomatic protest against the plan in Tokyo later this week.
The US Ambassador to Tokyo has revealed that Japan may agree to abandon the humpback kill because of the concerns, and the ABC understands the agreement could be signed off on later this week.
Japan still plans to kill up to 900 minke whales under its program, which is conducted under scientific research provisions of the International Whaling Commission.
Japan says it is not concerned about Australian plans to send monitoring ships to watch its whale kill in the Southern Ocean this summer.
The Federal Government will send a ship, the Oceanic Viking, and a surveillance jet to monitor Japan's activities.
Japan plans to kill up to 1,000 whales in the Southern Ocean as part of what it says is its scientific research program.
Tomohiko Taniguchi from Japan's Foreign Ministry says the Australian plan will not be a problem, as long as there is no interference with Japanese ships.
"It is totally up to the decision of the Australian Government to do whatever it wants to do, so I don't have any comment on what the Australian Government will do or will likely do about Japan's whaling activities," he said.

RE: Australia goes in to bat for the whales
As an American, my country has plenty to be embarrassed about when it comes to the environment, not to mention some other issue. But one thing I will never understand is the screwed up Japanese culture. Whether it is whaling or killing oneself to preserve honor, that culture has got some serious problems in a few areas. At least the Japanese economy looks like it might soon do better so there will be less acts of suicide by disgraced businessmen. (Well, gotta go out someplace ... via my Japanese car, and yes, it is one that was made and assembled in Japan. Guess the culture isn't all that bad.)
RE: Australia goes in to bat for the whales
You are a bit behind the times. The Japanese economy is currently doing very well. And whilst I do not agree with people killing themselves due to honour or a sense of shame it would not be a bad thing if people from a few other countries felt at least some shame over some of their actions.
RE: Australia goes in to bat for the whales
"scientific research program" my ass. They want whale sushi.
RE: Australia goes in to bat for the whales
I hear they eat dolphin too.
And speaking of a fucked-up culture, have you ever seen any Japanese porn? It's full of eel bestialty and 50-guy facials, but for some reason they aren't allowed to show pubic hair.... go figure.

RE: Australia goes in to bat for the whales
Not so sure if their culture is so much more fu#$ed than yours, or mine...whatever your "culture" is. However, I can tell you this, as a kid growing up in a Scandinavian country, I tasted whale meat on more than one occasion, and it was quite delicious...to tell you the truth. Same with sausage made from horse meat. Wouldn't eat any of those animals today, for my personal "ethical" reasons (guess I like those animals too much!) and...besides...I'm not starving, so I don't have to resort to eating them. My point is...we humans are extremely hypocrytical in this area....I mean, who decides which animals are ok to eat and which aren't? For example, having mentioned in this forum that I own a parrot as a pet....I would never eat a parrot for dinner. For an australian auboriginal, though...that might be a perfectly accpetable afternoon snack. If, on the other hand, you present me with a dish of chicken cacciatore...I'd dig in with relish. So...what's the difference, speaking in terms of one culture being superior to another???
RE: Australia goes in to bat for the whales
.... IS WHETHER A SPECIES IS ENDANGERED!!!!
JAPAN IS ONE OF THE MAIN REASONS THAT WHALES OF MANY TYPES ARE ENDANGERED!!!! AND JAPAN HAS BEEN RESISTING RESTRICTIONS FOR YEARS AND YEARS!!!! AND JAPAN USES "SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH" AS AN EXCUSE TO KILL AN ENDANGERED SPECIES!!!!!!
THAT IS THE DIFFERENCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
F*CKED UP CULTURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RE: Australia goes in to bat for the whales
I was thinking the same thing. A cow's life is not any less important than a whale's, it just the fact that the whales are dwindling down in numbers and they are not helping by killing them off.
RE: Australia goes in to bat for the whales
Wow, that was a lot of CAPS and exclamation marks...guess you must feel pretty passionate about this topic... If people like you had felt as compassionate and outraged about the genocide in Rwanda in 1994, perhaps 800,000 lives could have been saved.
Just to make one thing clear, although my country is the only other country (as far as I know) that hunts whales, I don't condone this practice. In fact, I think it is a shame. However, if I could fix the "wrongs" in this world (which of course I can't), I would first concern myself with Man's inhumanities to his own species. I mean, if we're not evolved enough not to attack our fellow man, woman or child...how could you possibly excpect that the animals would fare any better?
About your argument about a species being endangered, I think I understand whe're you're coming from, but I don't buy into it. As far as I'm concerned we're all gonna die...so, in that sense, we're endangered, too. And the world will go on without us, just like it did without the dinosaurs. However, having said that, please rest assured that I won't be having a Californian Condor, Spotted Owl or a Bald Eagle for dinner anytime soon! ;) Merry Christmas!

RE: Australia goes in to bat for the whales
In "my culture" we often eat embryos from the Gallus domesticus species by placing them in boiling water or a container lined with searing hot oil. Sounds kinda of wierd right?
RE: Australia goes in to bat for the whales
Japanese porn is not all about eels and 50 guy facials. The range from soft to hard is much wider than most western countries. They actually make porn films with proper plots and characterisation. However only the extreme hard stuf is widely featured outside Japan.
RE: Australia goes in to bat for the whales
porn is like pizza;
when it's good, it's real good,
when it's bad, it's still kinda good.

RE: Australia goes in to bat for the whales
An interesting fact about the Japanese: They not only incorporate eel and squid into their porn, they also serve both up as tasty toppings on pizza.
RE: Australia goes in to bat for the whales
What the hell is this post morphing into?!? japnese porn, eels, whales, pizza, dolphins, horse saussage.
What next?
What next?
RE: Australia goes in to bat for the whales
lol...well the thread started out about whales, and unless you're into really "full sized hosts"...I think you should have guessed from the thread title what it was all about. How japanese porn got into the mix, I dunno! I agree that this is perhaps not the most appropriate forum to raise such topics, but personally, I wasn't offended by it. But then...I grew up on whale steaks! By the way, dick, I was gonna send you some aged horse meat sausage for Xmas, but after that remark you made....I changed my mind... ;)
By the way...anyone here ever tried frog legs? Was gonna try it in France once, but I couldn't make myself. Poor little froggies...

taking the opportunity to not only knock those who care about animals, but taking a swipe at full-figured women too.......you're a real piece of work there, azzy.
RE: Australia goes in to bat for the whales
Please don't try to "wow" me, or anybody else here....use your screen name at least....if you have the guts. Trust me, nobody will know your real identity. The only "sniping" here is done by you, and you know it. Stop hiding...feel free to ccMail me if you want, if you have the guts...I promise you that I won't divulge who you are. Why do you feel so threatened by me? Anyway, so, I am attacking animals now? lol.....try to get a grip, buddy!
RE: Australia goes in to bat for the whales
sorry to inform you Azterix but that well could be the problem.already has a grip but it's on the wrong head & cutting off blood flow & circulation, thereby diminishing the capacity for rational thought in that already tortured mind :--))

To his credit, he DID in fact respond w. his screenname and some erratic posting about my evil ways. I responded....and cc deleted both his post and mine...good for everyone, I think...if you know what I mean... ;)
RE: Australia goes in to bat for the whales
Madison...I looked at your profile...and you're lovely. I was just making an attempt to use humor in my post, but I guess, according to this guy....now I am not only a bore and a sanctimoneous twit...I am also a hater of hosts and animals...lol... Jeez...what if he is right???
stange message on screen
i entered the text chat of a host. She was in one to one video, and i could not type anything. When she finished i said hi and suddenly, everything that was on screen disappeared. and got no responses from her.
when i entered into video, there was a message in pink letters saying something like " you're no longer ignored....."
i assume she had ignored me on the text chat and turned it when she was getting $$ from me. Her story is that is a cc feature that ignores members in text chat when she is in video and stayed likt that after she finished.
Is that thing possible? or she just think i am really gullible

RE: stange message on screen
When a host is in one to one video, she cannot see anything typed in text chat. I think that she can see messages in text chat when she is in open session.
RE: stange message on screen
I thought she could not see anything in any video chat. good to know.
RE: stange message on screen
If host is in one to one video, you were automatically ignored and no typing can be done. After the host leaves the one to one the system just was notifying you are no longer being ignored. If the host was still online you should have been able to join the host in either text or video.
RE: The truth is ...
Sounds like that was what happened. :)

RE: who should call first?
Dont make it about power. If you think the relationship can survive go ahead and call he may be sorry too.
RE: who should call first?
It does not matter who calls first on one specific occasion. What matters is whether or not one person is usually the person to call first. If one person never calls, that person obviously doesn't care too much about the relationship. Relationships are not about keeping score in terms of things like how many times one person call another, but at the same time, it should not always be one person that makes the call every time there is a disagreement or even just to say hello.
I would just call this time and not worry about it. In terms of what to say, just say "Hello. I love you and miss you", and see how things go from there. Just the relationship over a longer period of time, not just based on one fight, or one phone call, or on who calls first.

RE: who should call first?
Judge the relationship over a longer period of time, not just based on one fight, or one phone call, or on who calls first.
RE: who should call first?
Relationships are all about who ha the power, yes indeed. If you cave now, expect to be treated worse in the future.
Be strong!
Be strong!
RE: who should call first?
I agree with what the others have said, it isn't about who calls first, it's about saving the relationship. If you are still concerned about who calls 1st try this...Call but make it a quick one (say, opss, I have to go, my food is ready or someone is knocking at my door or something like that) and ask him if he can call back in an hour.
RE: who should call first?
If I were you I would take a look at the relationship and if you feel that it is worth saving then do not hesitate to call. It does not matter who is first. You may be waiting for him and he may be waiting for you. That could go on to a point that no call is made by either of you. Make an effort to patch up the relationship if that is what you want. If you do not care about a relationship with that person then forget calling.
RE: who should call first?
not sure if this is totally correct i.e. that you get an automatic message. i think its manual message. anyone know for sure?
RE: who should call first?
maybe he's hiding on u so he doesnt have to buy christmas gift for you . i suggest you go to same place he goes with new "hotter " b/f . that will rattle his cage .
RE: who should call first?
and if you can have sex with his best friend, do that too.......that'll teach the bastard not to ignore you.
RE: who should call first?
And if you did not call in the 4 days, maybe you do not care as much for him also. This works both ways as far as a relationship goes.
RE: who should call first?
There's no reason a "first call" is an apology. I would call and say: "Girl, I think we should have a coffee and talk."
RE: who should call first?
A relationship is not about power and pride - amongst other things, it's about communication, understanding, compromise and forgiveness. If he is important to you, if the relationship is important to you, I believe you should ring him. Show him that HE is the one that matters to you and not whatever happened a few days ago. Don't forget that he might be living the same dilema as you. Be the wise one. What have you got to lose? :-) Not everyone finds it easy to say they are sorry.
Don't think too much of what you can say of how you can start the conversation - pick up the phone dial the number and the words will flow :-)
Just my thoughts :-)

RE: who should call first?
....but all human interaction is based on power and pride, to pretend otherwise is self-sabotage.
RE: who should call first?
Are you trying to say that you have come across every single human interraction on this planet - or are you talking from whatever others have discovered?
Whatever it is, you judging and comenting on my thoughts, seems a bit pointless because you will never get me to see things the way you do and likewise. Alongside other things that's what differentiates us humans, a unique way of perception and values of life.
I am not contesting the fact that certain situations and even relationships in our lives have as a compiling factor, power and pride. However, I don't believe that a love relationship should be "based" (your word), on power and pride. That would hardly get us anywhere. Again my thoughts, which you can argue if you like but it won't get you anywhere.
I believe that the original poster (which I have replied to), will take whatever suits her out of this trade. That doesn't mean that she will follow my advice if it doesn't match her situation or beliefs, and self-sabotage.
Speaking about self-sabotage, living upon your own beliefs and standards, being yourself in any situation, it's hardly self-sabotage. But then again, you might think different.
Self-sabotage behavior is when there is no logical or rational explanation for why you can't do the things you want to do or why you can't have the things you want to have.
Self-sabotage behavior is most recognizable by the experience of an internal "tug-of-war" between having a desire to do something and feeling like you can't or shouldn't do it.
Merry Christmas to you! :-)

drive safe this holiday season
I was driving home last night from the city and I had a little too much to drink and of course, my car was weaving all over the road. A cop pulls me over, "He asked me, where have I been" I ask why, did I missed something or was I speading, he said no and ask me again, where you been." I said I've been to the bar downtown of course, celebrating my anniversity. Well the cop said it looks like you've had quite a few to drink this evening, I said I did alright, nothing to brag about, but I am having a hard time of hearing. He said did you know a few intersections back your wife fell out of the car. Oh no I said, omg, thanks heaven officer, I thought I'd gone deaf.

Do you have $2,200?
Research indicates that assets of just $2,200 per adult place a household in the top half of the world's wealthiest. To be among the richest 10% of adults in the world, just $61,000 in assets is needed. If you have more than $500,000, you're part of the richest 1%, a United Nations study says. Indeed, 37 million people now belong in that category.
RE: Do you have $2,200?
"Surprisingly, household debt is relatively unimportant in poor countries. As the authors of the study point out: ‘While many poor people in poor countries are in debt, their debts are relatively small in total. This is mainly due to the absence of financial institutions that allow households to incur large mortgage and consumer debts, as is increasingly the situation in rich countries.'
"The authors go on to note that ‘many people in high-income countries have negative net worth and—somewhat paradoxically—are among the poorest people in the world in terms of household wealth.'"

RE: Do you have $2,200?
The poor people in eastern europe are not even in debt, because it's a cash society there, the credit cards, loans etc are recently introduced therefore peolpe didnt have the chance to go in debt.
RE: Do you have $2,200?
Fall to your knees and thank God that you don't have easy credit yet. Once you have it you will be raped in the ass daily with interest rates. You will be tempted to buy the trappings of the consumer society you see in the movies, on TV and in the magazines, selling your financial future in ways you can't imagine.
RE: Do you have $2,200?
I was talking to a host the other day, and she was thinking in getting credit for some major purchase.
It seems they are going into easy preapproved credits ... faster than we thought. And consumers are going to find out that a 15% interest rate... is not 15% of the value your purchased.
well, in time they willl learn that buy-me-on-cheap-monthly-payments is not the best way to get your stuff.
work, work, work, then save, save, save. ;) or marry for money :P

RE: Do you have $2,200?
Is a succesful capitalistic economy necessarily dependent upon a large group of naive/stupid people meant to be exploited?
it doesn't matter...
You want to divide all the wealth of the world equally? It won't work. Within a generation it would be back exactly where it is now.
If you remember when the Soviet empire collapsed there was a distribution of certain assets among all the citizens in the form of stock (called assets). Within a few months virtually all the stock was sold for pennies because they didn't have any idea of the worth or value involved.

RE: it doesn't matter...
It wasn't so much for not having an idea about the value. It was, because for most it was the only possibility to get some money to buy basics. As usual, those who already had enough - or had their connections - could afford to buy those assets for cheap and become very rich soon after. You can't distribute assets to a society where most have nothing. It may work in a wealthy sosciety, but not in a poor.
RE: it doesn't matter...
EXACTLY SO!!! Redistribution from rich to poor can't work. You have to EARN it.
RE: it doesn't matter...
Though redistribution of wealth is happening very slowly. An article I read last summer put it at about 15% of the worlds wealthiest population controls 50% of the wealth. As sad as that may sound that the best it's been in recorded history, it's estimated 400 years prior that 2% of the population had 80-90% of the wealth.
RE: it doesn't matter...
1.000.000 lei in 1991. What was that worth? About $13.000?? ($1 = 76.47 old lei in 1991) Not very much, even in 1991 in Romania and hardly proves anything.
RE: it doesn't matter...
You don't think $13,000 in 1991 had any value? That's worth over $19,000 in 2007. That's almost $60,000 for a family of three. You are saying if your family received a check for $60,000 that's a "nothing?" I wish I was so rich as you.
RE: it doesn't matter...
The term "millionaire" is a term used when somebody is extremely wealthy, and stricly speaking, has over $1.000.000... 1.000.000 lei in 1991 would not make anyone extrememely wealthy.
RE: it doesn't matter...
I disagree. It's all subjective. In the UK a person with $1,000,000 would not be counted as a millionaire.
I also disagree that, strictly speaking, the term has to refer to $ and that someone with a million of their own unit of currency is not, technically speaking, a millionaire.
The only point I would agree with is that when we use the term millionaire we are usually using the term to mean someone who is rich.

RE: it doesn't matter...
I think you also missed the point, no it would not make them a millionaire, but it would make them very well off in a country whose average monthly income was $200.00. So even in 1991, $13000 would have been more than 5 years salary. How many people do you know, even in wealthy countries, that have 5 years salary sitting in their bank account? Very few. In fact, most financial planners in wealthy countries advise people to keep at least 6 months salary in the bank in case of an emergency, such as a loss of employment, and most are still unable to save that much.
RE: it doesn't matter...
Yes. But let's be fair. It was 1,000,000 lei in stock, not cash. I didn't follow that news then, I only saw the new reports of the Russian situation. They probably had no faith in their system - don't forget the Romanian "revolution" was a sham - with the old party apparatchic still running things under a different name. They may have thought 10 bani in the hand was worth more than the promise of 1 leu later. In Romania they also had the opportunity to but their apartments and houses. The wise ones did and bought those of their neighbors who weren't interested.
RE: it doesn't matter, ANGELL...
As long as Romania has ciorba, sarmale, covrigi and such girls you are the best country in Europe.
RE: it doesn't matter...
"The Economist" is just like many economists.... clueless!!! His response here is not on-point, and in any event, is based upon a few isolated examples.
I remember that his response to the first of the "dollar and you" posts was to attack the analaysis about interest rates by saying he "did not know where to begin". He never began, and never offered anything to refute or counter what was said when politely asked. Now the dollar is stabilizing, and even going up a bit, because of the threat of inflation in the US is causing less chance of interest rate deductions.
Give us some substance or change your nickname!

RE: it doesn't matter...
I must agree with you - if a poster wants to present himself as an expert then at least be one.
RE: it doesn't matter...
Whenever you meet someone claiming to be an expert remember that "x" is merely an algabraic term for an unknown and a "spurt" is caused by water under pressure -- therefore an expert is just some unknown drip under pressure.
RE: it doesn't matter...
I would venture to say 80% of the world's politicains and statisticians can twist 75% of any topics to to thier favor, but only 10% of the people know that.
RE: it doesn't matter...
I heard that the low value of the dollar was the only thing keeping the US economy from completely going to shit. Does the rise in its worth now mean that the global economy is about to implode?
RE: it doesn't matter...
"Economist" and "the economist" are 2 different people.
MY answer was a reaction to the statement that "assets of just $2,200 per adult place a household in the top half of the world's wealthiest."
This statement opens the debate to an argument for seeing to it that asset levels are equalized across the world, stripping wealth from the wealthy and giving it to the poor. If you don't want to join that debate, simply ignore my posts.

Women Are Evil By Nature
A woman went up to the bar in a quiet rural pub. She gestured alluringly to the bartender who approached her immediately. She seductively signaled that he should bring his face closer to hers. As he did, she gently caressed his full beard.
\"Are you the manager?\" she asked, softly stroking his face with both hands. \"Actually, no,\" he replied.
\"Can you get him for me? I need to speak to him,\" she said, running her hands beyond his beard and into his hair.
\"I\'m afraid I can\'t,\" breathed the bartender.. \"Is there anything I can do?\"
\"Yes. I need you to give him a message,\" she continued, running her forefinger across the bartender\'s lip and slyly popping a couple of her fingers into his mouth and allowing him to suck them gently.
\"What should I tell him?\" the bartender managed to say.
\"Tell him,\" she whispered, \"There\'s no toilet paper, handsoap, or paper towels in the ladies room
