RE: about european borders
No way European Union (EU) intends to close borders for regular Russian civilians: the measure EU took is to forbid travelling to the entourage of Putler (oligarchs) as a sanction to what he did to the Ukrainian people (blocking bank accounts included). On the other hand: Putler forbids some European politicians to enter Russian territory. As far as I know, passport AND visa is needed though.

im going to europe for new years eve, going to visit a few countries and move from country to country by train, so thats why i want to know more information

Not all of us. The problem is the refugees flooding in from syria and africa etc. We don't have the capacity to take care of them. Hungary is closing its borders by setting up barbed wire and some countries are just refusing to let more refugees in.

u dont need a visa to travel in EU, but visa to go to Russia I suppose. no problems with it here! if u take a train in EU, nobody asks for documents. but if train go to RU, they will normally.
