I am no expert, but there is a potential causal link. I think the answer to your question is "depends". The member would have to accept that things might not work out between himself and the host and would therefore possibly be alone in the host's city. If that were to happen, the member would either go home early or become a tourist in the city. The member would have to be comfortable enough with "being a tourist" at this point in a city he may or may not be familiar with.

Some hosts send replies to cc mail and some do. That is the same for the members. To me that does not mean a host cares about me or not. It just means that they are busy or not, because I receive some cc mail when things are slow on cc.
