if you're serious though.... the "see" of "z" is pronounced with a simultnaeous vibration of the vocal cords, making enough of a difference in sound to differentiate it from the "see" in "c"...
much in the same way, the letters "b", "d", "g"(the "hard" kind), and "v" are also pronounced with enough of a buzz to distinguish them from the letters "p", "t", "k", and "f" respectively..

As a matter of fact, english is a mixture of different tongues, Roman, Spainish, French, German. Real english died out when the Romans invaded and ever since various countries have populated this country (UK) english has been mixed up. American is an anglo european mix that has evolved, Real American is spoken by the native american indians. White americans are invaders and are in reality anglo european, mainly english & french. Australian is again based on the english from convicts deported from england and has evolved. Like America the true aussie is the native from that country. With the mixing of races in all parts of the world there is not a true mother tongue exsisting. We are all a product of ourselfs.

Actually the language is not dirrectly influenced by Roman (which would be Latin) or Spanish. If you have trouble with the version you most probably hear where you are, then you'll have real trouble if you come here as we have many regional accents. It's possible to identify people here to as close as 5 miles just by the way they speak. The Yanks all think we're either royalty or cockneys. LOL

I am not sure there is such a thing as a "Real American" language as you stated in your post the inquisator. The Native Americans that populated America before it was colonized didn't share a common language. Each indian tribe spoke a different langauge. So which one would you classify as being the "Real American"? And also since what we call America, had never been called America until the colonist arrived would it really be accurate to call the language the indians spoke as "American"? I don't think so. Technically it is not even accurate to call them Native Americans nor Indians. Those are names given to them by the white man and I am sure they had different names for identifying each other before the white man arrived.

Bad phrasing, maybe i should have said native to that country. America came into being after the white men arrived. Same goes for Austraila. Aussies are strange, they have the dollar as currency but they drive on the same side as britain. Dont think they know what they are.
What it really comes down to is if you can talk to any other person in any other country & you understand them , then who should care how they talk. Its not how they say it, its what is said that important. In any tongue thats what counts.

I am an American and I have never pronounced Z like "see". I have always pronounced it as "zee". To me it is completely normal. What seems strange to me is Canadians pronouncing Z as "zed".

Also the example you used for the pronounciation of the word "czech" in American is wrong. Americans pronounce "czech" the same as the word "check". I understand that English/American is a difficult language to learn if it is not your native language. Some words are spelled the same but pronounced differently and rules for letter combinations apply to some words but not to others. It must be very confusing, but I commend you for having the determination to do it.
