Travel to Ivanono
Hello,
I'm planning to travel to Ivanovo, Russia soon, but my travel agent can't seem to find the Ivanovo airport in her database. The best she can do is get me to Moscow...
My friend may be unable to meet me in Moscow, meaning I'll have to take the train to Ivanovo... does anybody know if the train will have any English speaking employees to assist in this journey, or am I basically screwed if I'm left alone in Moscow? Is the train near the airport?
Any ideas / advice / stories related to this posting will be most appreciated.

I'm going to Ivanovo next Friday 27th and I'm being met at Moscow airport. My host is too worried about me making the train journey alone. Also, sub-arctic temps are forecast to continue for another 10 days at least. Just plan everything in the greatest detail and I wish you a safe and happy journey!

I just asked an Ivanovo host to advise you here. She says don't travel alone but she'll give you more details later. Hope it helps!

sorry guy, it sounds like she doesnt give a shit about u ! U have a good chance to be lost. You better get a taxi till the Ivanovo( about $ 100)

I have made many trips to Moscow. If it wasnt for my wife being able to speak Russian I would have never made it out of the airport. Most European countries have many people speaking english but not Russia. Its rare when you have someone that can speak english. If she cant make the trip it may be that she cant afford the taxi. Its expensive. If she wants to see you bad enough she'll meet you there at the airport. Just pay her back the cost of taxi or bus. By bus its about 7 hours. If she decides to take the taxi she needs to order it from Ivanovo not from Moscow. Its cheaper. Good luck!

yep, he is right, if she would order taxi from ivanovo- it would cost about $80-$100. If u would get taxi at Moscow ( for example in airport ) - it would cost double for u( abour $ 200).

It's interesting that you should mention the cab idea. After "a host" mentioned the taxi, I thought about the same thing, and it looks like that will be the plan.
7 hours? I didn't realize it was so far ... 20 hours in airports and planes, and then a long ride... Nevermind hugs and kisses, I'll be begging for a pillow. (kidding, of course)

dont forget, that russia has cold winter time, roads are frozen , so probably bus will take about 8 hours ( but bus is not so comfortable ). Better get a taxi .

I have just got back from Ivanovo. To get to Ivanovo I used service of Uncle Pasha and his Girl friday (do google search), excellant service. It cost a bit more but they picked me up from airport (english speaking Driver) took me to bus station got me the ticket made sure I had drink and food for trip and put me on the right bus and seat. It took just over 5hrs travelling by bus to get to Ivanovo. I did have taxi for trip back to Moscow Airport and this cost 4000 rubles. When you arrive in Ivanovo make sure you have address you wish to go to written down in Russian for Taxi Driver. Good luck PS bus ticket cost 230 rubles and ticket for bags cost 30 rubles.

Nothing wrong about going directly to Ivanovo, but why not treat your girl to some time in Moscow? It will give you some time to adjust to the time zone change and she may really enjoy some time in Moscow.
I can confirm that the taxi (car and driver) from Ivanovo to Moscow was $100 and from Moscow to Ivanovo was about $250.
I was met at the airport when I was there in September, no way would I have done this alone with my limited understanding of Russian.

It's an adventure, and yes I was amazed at how many beautiful women live there. But no goals, just visit friends and have good time. It may not have the charm of say St Peters or the buzz of Moscow but the locals I think are much more friendly and open. The ladies are also amazed at how western men treat any lady there. Opening doors etc, and generally putting them first. Also you get a much better response if you smile and say hello to a lady.

Ivanovo Airport was closed last week due to the weather, maybe it ok now. Taxi at airport easy to get but if your tired after flight it makes sense to arrange someone to meet you and make the first part of the journey in russia less stressful. Also if you take taxi to Ivanovo it will cost you much and taxi driver might not know where in Ivanono you want to go.

hi i live in Ivanovo. taxi from Ivanovo to Moscow costs 3500 rub. it is about $125, by taxi it will take 4 hours in winter. and by the way i am going to meet one member from usa in feb so if u come one day i could meet u in moscow. Julia

That assumes that predestination exists and free will does not.
If Judas was "just playing his part" in some plan, then he really never had any alternative. It also removes personal responsibility from his (and other peoples') actions because, in effect, God made him do it.

Why let someone who expressed disappointment in the person you are consume your thoughts in such a way?
The only thing I can tell that you're doing wrong is bothering yourself to find answers to why you feel you aren't good enough for this person.
Live life by your own principles and be the best person you can be.. If someone chooses to find fault in that and cast you aside for it, they aren't worth a second thought.
Find someone more accepting, more understanding and supportive.. Find someone who encourages the best in you rather than pointing out the things about you he finds disappointing.

My personal opinion here... if he truly cares about you and regards you as a friend then he wouldn't have said something so hurtful.

Beside the fact that she was typing, and laughing with someone else, she slipped and told me when I finaly got her attention. She said sorry, I was on other site. What is with chat hosts on more then 1 site, I don't mind I know you need money, but recently I was in a one 2 one and the host was also having a chat with someone from another site. Not only does that waste my money but it is rude. The least a host can do is turn off the other site when your in a one 2 one chat. Would any chat hosts out there like to comment?

well you obvviously misunderstood my meaning. I am a friend of Anne's also, and it was my way of kidding with her as I meant no disrepect al all! I apologoze to both you and Anne, and anyone else for that matter who has taken offense to my "kidding comments." You are right I am not a genius. The comment was made based on an American cartoon series back during the 1960's. I don't know why these kind of teasing or joking remarks are always taken out of their original context; but be that as it may, IM SORRY ANNE!!!

lol, about 25% of the adult hosts here are registered on different sites. Even some of the non adult hosts are. The more sites they are on the more custom they get thus more money. Some girls do this incase it gets quiet on CC... at least they have another site/s to fall back in *shrug*

Understand Anonymous your point is well taken. However this topic may very well come up again and again, since we are talking about human behavior, even though it may be the internet. In the past we have had more generalized opinions on this subject, and I was hoping to hear more from members/chathosts on more specifics. Yes we are talking about all types of mixed personalities, therefore perhaps some would like to elaborate more on this subject? Because of the human nature of different personalities, I would "guess" there would be more opinions, and probably always will. The other side of the arguement; "well who cares," just doesn't hold "any water," as it is a common practice in adult chatrooms to at the very least, maintain some type of civility, and good taste, even in the "adult environment."

any rudeness i have witnessed or been accused of is the result of the chatroom medium - fast abbreviated cross cultural varying timezones party mode communication. Not the most conducive environment for clear perceptions. Yet once again -and always will be - honsety is the key -honesty alone is confronting for many .
My experience is an approach of love and support will usually dispell rudeness and encourage community (common unity). : )

Ok huh, understand where you're coming from; but not even you can deny (i don't think?) that there are some problems in there......So I think we're all just trying to address these issues, and by talking about them, perhaps we can all come together to make the comchat a better place? Who knows, it never hurts to try! Bottom line being; We ALL Want To Have Fun.....:))

I like your statement better, and absolutely the part of Honesty....Back in college I had a psychology professor who told us (our class, and I never will forget it) "Remember that the botttom line to everything you do in life will come down to this question"......"Ask yourself, what is the Truth?" The truth (honesty) will be, what we all will have to face......some sooner, some later! Wouldn't it be nice if there was common unity!? All discourse and arguements would be solved much better, and faster! :))

The ruddest thing i have noticed about com chat is when some ppl start to gossiping and discussing me when i'm not in com chat or when i stepped out from my pc and dont see so i dont react on their rude words.Why cant someone talk face to face?

Yes Vera, you raise a very important point! I have seen this myself when members/chathosts leave the chatroom, or are not in the chatroom at all, and their names are brought into the chat. It is Not Fair at all to the person Who Is Not There To Respond in kind to those chatting about him or her.....! It is a very cheap and cowardly thing to do! :((
